Walk + Talk Therapy: a natural fit

Research shows that exercise can help kids with their studies.

Studies show that playing outside can even reduce the risk of nearsightedness in children.

And if your child is experiencing anxiety, sleeplessness, or depression — research shows that daily exercise can really help with that too.

So the science is clear: exercise is good for physical health AND your mental health. Which begs the question — why aren’t more treatment plans focused on incorporating exercise as a key element to therapy?

A new therapeutic model of “Walk + Talk Therapy” which combines physical movement with a psychotherapy session is finding success with many people, and it may be one of the best ways to get teenagers moving (and talking!)

Some clinicians prefer this active approach for all of their clients, and many have seen real benefits in Walk + Talk Therapy sessions with teenagers and young adults.

Bloom Therapy has incorporated this active collaborative model to work with teenagers in a more relaxed, natural setting. The well-paved, easily accessible Cynwyd Heritage Trail would be the most common place for this type of session. Please contact us to learn more.
